Shari and John got married in the far away land of St. Lucia (maybe I had to Google it), but these two saved their amazing after party for Minneapolis.  The Guthrie’s Dowling Studio was completely transformed for their event.  Design by the Mimis.  Music by The New Standards.  Gorgeous intelligent lighting by Instant Request.  Good lighting makes such a difference.

Holla back, Nerdies!

We also ran our Photobooth! in a little nook, projecting the images onto a flat screen tv.  The flash hung on a suspension pole above the computer.

I said, “Where my Nerds at?!”

We just got home from Shari + John’s wedding reception. The files aren’t even downloaded yet, but it’s 1am.  So, look at their beautiful faces and now go to bed.

Bri + Eric | Wedding

July 21st, 2010

Bri and Eric live in LA these days, but they came home to the Midwest to celebrate their wedding at Bri’s parents farm in Elko, MN.  Their wedding was full of adorable details like mason of boozy delights and taking wads of cash from Bri’s father’s wallet.

Such a treat to photograph a rural wedding because you get to do stuff like this.  One of the bridesmaids thought we might be under cover for Vanity Fair.  Best compliment ever.

This was the first time I’ve ever been asked to dance while working.  I had to hand my off-camera flash to Matt.

“The photographer thinks this is pretty funny, doesn’t he?”

“Yep.  Looks like it.”

“So I’m here for the weekend, I don’t even know what I’m doing here in Minnesota…  Put your arms up here…  So, is he your boyfriend or something?”

“He’s my husband.”

“OH GOD.”

Ben + Mo | The Wedding

Warning: you are about to see ACTORS MARRYING ACTORS.  Their facial expressions are bigger and more committed.  Their singing voices and dancing skills will put yours to shame.

A bit of narration is scattered throughout this post, because a picture is worth 1000 words, but some of the words need to be filled in by the people who were there.  This is your backstage pass to Ben and Mo’s 4th of July wedding. Valid with signature.

Rehearsal:

Down the aisle:

Maureen’s brother was Skyped in from New Zealand.  Technology brings us tears internationally!

Why is it so great to see adults in kid chairs?  Anybody?

4th of July means bomb pops and sparklers for everyone!

Ben and Mo scouted this street carnival for us the week before their wedding:

I got chills.  They’re multiplyin.

This additional toast sponsored by The Darkness:

Theater people.  AM I RIGHT?

This game below was a Newlywed Game style show.  Raise the shoe of the person in the relationship who ___________ more.  I think this question was about who takes more time getting ready in the morning.

This one was “who loves who to the moon and stars and back” or something.  Aw.

Quick change into the bridal dancing dress!

Hi, Kristen.

Need a stage manager to the dance floor for some costume repair!

If you can’t get enough of these two and their sick moves, check them out in Chanhassen Dinner theater’s show… FOOTLOOSE.  You might recognize the lead.  Just sayin.

The whole time I was like, “I have seen these people somewhere, where was it?!?!” They were both in Footloose and she was the best dancer, I couldn’t stop watching her. What awesome photos, it looked like an amazing wedding!
