Niki, Brad, and Reese

I learn something new every time I photograph a baby… Things that I feel like I’m still too young to know.
I would tell you what I learned but it’s mostly giggle words and we can’t have that on the blog, now can we?

Nik and Brad, LOVE IT! Especially the last two!

These two are great I tell you. When their mom called to set up the session they were both described as “goofy, lots of fun, and goofy.” It’s awesome to see two siblings that really like each other.

On a side note, Kess and I are heading up to our good friend Keeler’s cabin today, so we’ll be not looking at email and such. Wooooo! Spring Break!

Parell Family Portraits

August 18th, 2010

Some days you wake up and think, “This bed is so comfortable, I never want to get out.”  Other days you wake up and think, “It’s time to have some beautiful photography of the people I love.”

The first one makes you a Snuggle Bunny.  The second one makes you a No-Occasion Portrait Person.

The Parells are No-Occasion Portrait People (and maybe also Snuggle Bunnies, though we didn’t start the day at their house so we can’t really comment):

There should be more no occasion portrait people. The photo journey started out kind of unassuming and it ended up with them being total snuggle bunnies. I sit by this fam in church all the time. Now I will have to greet them and then we can see about a stay over. Just kidding. I’ll just show up at their home.

Syd | Senior Portraits

This is Syd.  She is a gentle soul and chance-taker–an awesome combination that shows in her images.  You may remember her from Meet The Kamps.  Now that Syd’s a senior, it was the perfect opportunity to do her portraits and update their family images too.  I had an amazing time shooting with her and her family again.  In total, their marathon session took three hours.   We toured the whole city from Central Ave. to a few random areas that I’m not even sure I could find again.  She killed this shoot, as did her sisters and mom!

No seniors were harmed in the shooting of this next image.

Hello family!

I love hip hop music.  There’s a Jay-Z song on his Kingdom Come album where Mr. Z explains: “My chick comin’ home with Birkin bags, your chick is like ‘What type a purse is dat?’”  In this particular case Syd’s mom showed up rockin’ the Birkin and I was like ‘What type of purse is dat?’  It was so perfect.

Meet The Gardners

A few details about these awesome people:

The entire family loves Radiohead.
Saying “be crazy” provokes all kinds of weirdness in the children.
Coleman (boyGardner) and I have a special bond, wherein I say something and he listens.
Yellow slides, and the people that own them, rock.
